Charles McAbee: Instructor, Technician, and Salesman

Charles McAbee is a Guitar instructor with 14+ years of experience, as well as a salesman and technician at Newell’s Music. He studied jazz guitar in High School and was accepted to the Governors School of Arts and Humanities, before being accepted to Berklee School of Music in Boston. Charles decided to study at Piedmont Tech and Lander University, and while he didn’t finish he is looking to return to school and get his degree soon.

Charles’ musical experience is extensive, and he’s had the privilege to play with a variety of musicians including: Toni Spearman who’s a Blues Hall of Fame member, Campfire Revival AKA Bless Yer Heart, The Weathers, Fred Engler and the Troubleshooters, his current band Severus SC, and many others. While performing with these musicians he has also played at a variety of venues including The Roland Blues and Jazz Festival, Alive After 5 in Greenville SC, The Columbia Blues Fest, Carolina Metalfest, Radio Room, New Brookland Tavern, Ground Zero in Spartanburg SC, and has performed in several charity events for the Shiners Club in Greenwood SC. When Charles isn’t teaching, playing, or repairing, he can be found working at a local professional recording studio.
